Came back from Edge. Supposed to have something very spiritual to blog about but no, I do not. I need to go deeper with God, a more intimate relationship, more intimate then I ever did before.
I got slain last Sunday. I wonder if there was any significance, cause it was a little different from the last time. Maybe it was just my desire to just be with God again or perhaps God really had something to tell me, just that I wasn't aware.
I really feel like blogging a super witty entry that will make u glued to the screen and stuff. But there's just too much to do. So I guess ya'll will have to make do with my lousy entry.
Thanks for the visitorship though!
PS In case you haven't notice, the hits has declined like by 5000. This is because I switched from page loads to unique visitors so there's nothing to be concerned about. Just realized some of you have been refreshing, erm, a lot. Ya, haha. Thanks though.

Brazillian plane lost over Amazon. Doesn't that strike a chord with ABC's award winning...
Lost?
So much for reality teevee.
Me and my Graphic Workload
0 Comments Published by wengkeong on Friday, September 29, 2006 at 5:08 PM.
Okay so I have been on an incredibly long hiatus. This is probably one of the longest droughts in my blogging vie, much to the disappointment in many individuals- driving them to insanity. Surprisingly the hits haven't been down- thanks ya'll!
Much of this drought derived from the mushrooming graphic work I have been packed with- including the 16-page scalawag Victoriana, the mind-boggling Care and Share 2006 publicity materials, the Monitors' Council Sec 4 Farewell Invitation Card and my bid for the 2007 National Art Elective Program Exhibition @ SAM publicity materials.
Victoriana 2/2006 will be out soon so yes people of the world (aberrantly Victoria actually) rejoice! Unfortunately all the articles in there are strangely stale (AKA politically correct) due to editing. Even the beautiful graphics (Drawn together by me! Yes me! The graphic editor of the 2/2006 Victoriana!) cannot make up for it. Oh well, we shall treat it as a piece of art rather than a publication then ;)
I wonder how Media will do for the Straits Times Com this year. Hopefully the Miao will rope in Darryl Leong whose blog earned a notable mention on one of my entries before. *waves* if you're reading darryl!
Unfortunately I will not been showcasing the any of the works until they are confirmed, double confirmed and released. Lizhi and me have been working really hard though- our graphic capabilities reaching new heights!
This is Lizhi's newest graphic work! Drawn!
I am currently working on a tee design for the ProCreate section of the .mAct (Green Apple Campaign) by Greenpeace. Please everyone, click here and support this campaign! (especially you Mac users out there!) Mother earth deserves green Apples!
Extra Tidbits!
To make up for the drought, here are some extra tidbits for your bigfatsmiling pleasure =)
The Original Victoriana Article
This is the original article they were supposed to be published on Victoriana 2/2006 but because of the political correctness of the magazine we had to edit it to a somewhat more boring and concise version.
So here is the BFS Exclusive article- reading it before it is even published. But then again, they're not gonna publish this one ;)
(This entry was not posted on 18th September 2006 but written on that date. I posted it on 18th Sep cuz I didn't want this entry to be on the top of the blog)
Terence Lim's latest entry
Excerpt from Silvernotez.com (Terence Lim). Couldn't link to the direct entry cuz his server was down. Interesting huh?

Why are people so scared of mice, yet we all love Mickey Mouse?
Wouldn't it be smart to make the sticky stuff on envelopes taste like chocolate?
Why are the commercials for cable companies on cable but not on regular television? Don't they want the people without cable to buy the cable?
"Have you ever noticed that if you rearranged the letters in mother in law, they come out to Woman Hitler?"
Isn't it funny how the word 'politics' is made up of the words 'poli' meaning 'many' in Latin, and 'tics' as in 'bloodsucking creatures'?
Why is it that when things get wet they get darker, even though water is clear??
Why is it that when you get out of a swimming pool, your urine is hotter when you use the restroom?
Can mute people burp?

I am currently infatuated with Nich Lachey's ex-wife Jessica Simpson who has released her new bimbo album.
Okay la, it's the song that I am infatuated with not her. Haha.
A Public Affair is the first track, first single in this album and the album itself. The music video is filmed with Simpson, 2 unknown-to-me-but-famous-fellow-bimbos and -gasps- DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE EVA LONGORIA!
They are skating around this weird place in roller skates and smiling bimbotically at you ;)
Have not listened to the other tracks in the album although the reviews for all the other tracks (or the whole album actually) were pretty trashy.
Now listening to the other songs.
Ya. Crap. Haha.
Just download the A Public Affair song la. Listen to the iTunes preview HERE.
The music video containing -gasps- DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE EVA LONGORIA! preview can be seen HERE.
Please note that you need iTunes to preview these songs.
But I am quite outdated la, since this song was released so long ago. Sigh.
On a more updated note, Clay Aiken has released his third album! Was pretty surprised cuz have not heard much from him recently. It's entitled A Thousand Different Ways, after Merry Christmas with Love and Measure of Man.
Which inspires me to do a catalogue of Clay's changing looks.
Clay looked like that in the American Idol auditions years ago. Even Simon was surprised that such a voice came from, *erm*, someone like that. Okay, maybe I'm too mean.
Then came clay freckled face to complement his holiday season album. Haha, the cosy, Christmas feeling. Currently he is post-American Idol so he has all the glamour people he wants making him look so much better ;)
Aha! Clay now is the G2000, Giorgio Armani look in the photographs of his 2nd Album Measure of Man. Perhaps Armani helps him look more manly since it's a measure of how man he is. He looks much better now doesn't he?
And now...
Ahhhhh!
Doesn't he remind you of...
?
Lol.

I am currently using a new software to blog! It is MacJournal 4 which is a cool blogging software like iWeb just that it just does the basics of blogging.
There’s this full screen mode function which allows me to type in a only Black screen and green font environment.
No more distractions. Yay!
Super inconsistent blogging huh?
Sometimes I just sit down and ponder. Why do I not blog?
Well, for starters I am just infested with laziness. And then we come to the part where I kinda enjoy other people's work and not doing my own. Haha. My current favourite blogs are Kennysia, MrBrown, Miyagi, dot mommygene's and Sian Ying. So congrats to all of you! (Although the first feed I read is MacRumours.Com cuz I like to read the dirt and juice from Apple daily haha).
For News I read BBC, probably cuz that's news feed on Firefox so I don't bother to look for any better ones (Although I know there's New York Post, CNN etc etc etc)
And plus with the EOYS (as Zan affectionately calls them- kinda like OWLS and NEWTS in Hogwarts) coming up- I can really kill myself. There’s tonnes of information to fill my brain with and only 15 days left to do that.
Plus the fact that this determines my Subject Combination next year. I shall share my aspirations here =)
Compulsory Subjects
English Language
Elementary Mathematics
Advanced Mathematics
Combined Humanities (Have not decided Geography or History yet)
Higher Mother Tongue (or MT if I get kicked out cuz my Cheena sucks)
Sciences
Pure Chemistry
Pure Physics
(Or Chem/Bio if available)
Humanities
Pure Literature
Art for AEP
*counts* That’s 9 subjects. I might be a 9subber next year. God bless me. Seriously.
Grey’s yesterday was awesome! For once Derrick was actually practicing *erm* marital stuff with his wife instead of someone else. And I saw a new born horse with Finn and Meridith!
Now saving up for the Season 2 DVD since it’s *i think* out in Singapore already.
Have to go back to mugging! Byes!

Art Talk (Original Victoriana Article)
0 Comments Published by wengkeong on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 5:00 PM.
Returning to your alma mater more than a year after you left and speaking to their students and their parents is a strangely daunting task.
Fortunately and unfortunately I was given this task- to speak forth the wonderfulness of the Art Elective Program.
Among myself were a former schoolmate from Tanjong Katong Girl’s speaking about the Music Elective Program, a MOE Art Curriculum Planner and the would-be principal of the Art School that was to open in 2008. We were all geared up- ready to convince the barely ready students from my primary school to take the various programmes that we were from.
Of cause with MOE Art Curriculum Planners with degrees in Fine Arts and Principals of the inaugural Art School, I was having some tough competition.
Getting there and realizing that my laptop didn’t work with the projector didn’t help either. Last minute jitters and the air-con being abnormally cold just added more butterflies to my already packed stomach.
Being the first speaker, the whole presentation on Victoria School Art Elective Program came forth quite successfully with gleeful parents coming to ask for advice and commending the presentation after the presentation finally killed those overactive butterflies.
This one-night encounter has taught me that Art has more opportunities than you can ever imagine. With new and springing opportunities coming up, it would really pay to give art a second thought.

I was caught in The Great Rush today. Remembering Joel telling me why he didn't take up Jap in Secondary school although he was apt for it. Saying that he would be running back and and forth from MOE LC and VS and getting caught in the rat race 3 times a week.
I was nodding vigorously at what he said and thanked God that I wasn't selected for Jap.
Now I realised every Victoriana/Victorian season I am caught in The Great Rush.
Just in case you don't know what The Great Rush means, it just means the bus going extremely slow because tonnes and tonnes of people are packed inside like sardines and the MRTs being overcrowded and having your face stuck it people's armpits thus smelling their overactive body odor.
Sometimes life just feels so meaningless. Getting from one place to another, doing things that will never matter once you leave the earth and the list goes on.
Why are we running so fast?

Have lots to blog about today but am just too exhausted to belch it all out. My eyes have been glued to this screen for the past 2 hours. I am flabbergasted by how the Chinese gamer addicts can glue to their screens for 2 days straight.
The reason why I have been staring at the screen for who-knows-how-long is because iTunes has updated! (In case you all don't know there is an iTunes Version 7 now!) And they have extra view options (view as in how you view your library) and there's this really cool view option called cover flow which allows you to scroll through your music library like a traditional Jukebox (right).
Since I never bothered to look for the album art when I imported music, my cover flow was just a bunch of boring musical notes =(
(Actually iTunes 7 has a new Grab Art Function that allows you to get your art immediately from the iTunes Music Store but you need an iTunes Music Store Account which is only limited to US, Japan and all the other countries except Singapore =( )
Yeps! So after 2 hours of hard work on Amazon.com importing album arts I have a beautiful cover flow! (Above)
Go download iTunes 7 now! It's free!
(Moving on)
Today Terence Kwok raised a storm in class by so called "digging his nose". (Image courtesy www.Andrew.cmu.edu) I don't think he was actually digging it, just some gesture that somehow somewhat resembled the action of booger digging.
Since Primary School anyone to digged boogers were condemned right there and then by the whole class. Nobody dared to do it cuz the teacher will scold, friends will "gross-out", tease and laugh and the name calling (yes! teachers too!) will start.
Apparently in Secondary school, we are "more mature" and don't dig boogers anymore. However, the facade of no longer teasing booger diggers just got ripped off today when Terence imitated a booger digging scene (and got mistaken).
Just shows how much "school culture" and "tradition" remains in us huh?
(along with the "don't-friend-you"s, "orh-hors" and "i-tell-teacher"s)
Oh, I just remembered "booger dig" in our culture is orh pee sai. Haha!
POSTNOTE
For some reason I remember a certain church person (shan't mention who for protection reasons) whom I remember in the middle of a lesson started picking his/her noes.
He/she then showed it to me on his/her finger. It was green and slimy- you know the wet ones.
He/she then flicked it on the floor.
I laughed.
Just goes to show how disgusting I am.

I have found a cool site today! - All Consuming. Arg I am so cheap give free publicity.
No la, I give free publicity because this site is really cool and helpful. I always wanted to put like the music I am listening to and the books I am reading on my blog. But I was too lazy to find a Bloglines-like site for this kind of stuff and didn't want to constantly update my HTML.
All Consuming solves all that! Unlike Typepad users who have all the luxuries in HTML codes etc. etc. (and end up paying a bomb haha), we Blogger bloggers have to source through all sorts of codes to get what we want.
This is the new "Currently Consuming" section of my blog. Hopefully I'll get my fingers to type some review or something soon.
So yeah, I just finished CARRIED ALONG by ANDREW PETERSON which is a seriously awesome gospel album. Peterson is an extremely witty singer- with edgier and more catchy lyrics. I guess it's really the lyrics that captured me to his awesome worship. My favorite is THE CHASING SONG (You need iTunes to listen to this iTunes Music Store preview. Here are the lyrics.
'Cause Job, he chased and answer
The wise men chased the Child
Jacob chased her 14 years and he
Captured Rachel's smile
Moses chased the Promised Land
Joseph chased a dream
David, he chased God's own heart
All I ever seem to chase is me
MORE
Figured out a whole bunch of lyrics without music would be boring. Heex.
So yea, really impacting song. Go get it.
I have just completed my first ever digital artwork! I have spent my time doing this useless Illustrator file instead of studying for tomorrow's Maths test and finishing the art sketches. Sigh.

Temptation

I have finished my SA Painting. I finally know what drives an artist to paint another work after he just finished one. I finally understood the meaning of when an artist crushes his work and redos it after taking months or even years to complete it. I finally understand why artists are so protective of their work.
It's the sweat, blood and effort.
Although I only finished my final work in less than a day. I put in quite a lot of work into planning the entire thing. And I finally finished my first painting which I think is worthy enough to be considered in a portfolio. Hallelujah.
I skipped Evening for that though. Rats.
So you all budding artists out there *ahemrichardahem* please don't give up art! Art is for the hoi polloi although I really don't want to believe that (hey, we all want exclusiveness right?) So don't ever give up- even if your work "sucks", continue! Persevere! It is worth it in the end!
Shall not post my work online if not people say I ego lol.
I am currently listening to GINNY OWENS's BEAUTIFUL album.

See Han is gone for 3 weeks. That's 21 days.
You know the times where you think about the future, and think it's really far away, and thinks that God will come back by then.
I never thought I would take my PSLE in Primary School. It seemed too far to give a care too.
Now I think I would never be in the army. Okay, it's just me and my nonsensical references and ideologies.
Soon the Issac Ker will be gone to SAF and Ming Fei to the beautiful land of Timor Leste. Our youth missing 3 pivoting people. Geez.
Went to Sentosa yesterday! Actually planned to design really nice graphics with accompanying photos (Mas' 3.2 megapixel camera wth!) of beautiful lagoon sunsets, gleeful people on the beach and all sorts of Islander Life photos but decided I will be a lazy bum and not do anything.
Strangely, I feel stressed during the holidays- about the painting. That's the only homework I have left undone besides the group work ones. Crap.
I really need to create a deeper prayer and devotional pattern. Devoting more time not just to seeking God but actually studying more about God's word and stuff. Dwelling more and having a more productive prayer lifestyle. Probably 50% of our youth already have that, don't want to be a lagger hee.
Didn't watch Oprah today. My eyes have been shut from the sinful problems of the world for that one hour. This was until I watched the CNN World News- I saw the sufferings of the world which is just as bad.
India's wherever mine just exploded again- and 33 miners will be lost forever. This is not the first time.
Why can't the government just give more support to one of their biggest industries? The people deserve it.
Iraq bombings are still amidst. I doubt we'll ever see a day of peace there.
Bush has admitted to Secret CIA Prisons.
I'm not trying to be a News Blog but these are just some things that really signify our Armageddon.
God rain down on us.

I watched the 1pm Oprah on Star World and was devastated by how much sin there was in America. One in Four Americans carrying this one-time hooked drug called Crystal Meth. This drug which caused so much destruction in people's lives- be in spiritual, emotional, psychological, family-related, job-related, physical aspects.
Then I wondered how come such a fate dawned on this countries- once built on the word of God with strong foundations. "In God We Trust" is America's motto and is found on every single currency piece. A place where Thanksgiving is celebrated every year to commemorate God's goodness in bringing them to this new land. How could a country built on God's word turn to such sin?
Meanwhile we can't do anything but pray. God bless America.
Pam Seaward has been a wonderful speaker. Anointing is ever so present, bountiful. Such a wonderful ministry going on there in Nepal because of her as a vessel.
We have all been blessed this Sunday aren't we? Haha.
