377a is just a facade. The government keeps it there just to please our conservative hoi polloi. I mean, seriously, keeping 377a is not gonna stop Singaporean gays from having gay sex. They have been having gay sex for a long long time. And they're not going to stop.

The Garmen noes best lah..... That's why we, well not me cos i'm under 21, voted them in. We know that what they do for us is the best...
totally agree with your post. i signed repeal.
ANYWAY, the point of this is:
LOVE ME HATE ME KILL ME NOW, an rgs sec 4 production, 30 nov 7pm, 1 dec 3pm and 7pm, $7 tickets, ks chee theatre, PLEASE COME AND BRING MANY FRIENDS ALONG (:
*note: this is a slapstick comedy that is bound to bring you plenty of laughter. this is also not a play staged by the drama society.
: D
377a. Useless.
I had a pretty hard time trying to think up a reason as to why you did that post. It's not like anybody doesn't know the stuff you wrote. Well, even the government (several important ministers, at several events) has made it clear that the law can't be enforced. Big Brother isn't watching that closely.
You see, Gay rights activists obviously know that the police aren't going to break into homes and check if people are having Gay sex. They want it repealed so they can have a little victory. A stepping stone with which to spread their Gay rights messages and "Gay is Okay" propaganda.
Do you think Gays are okay?
Is 377a a "useless law"?
I believe 377a shows that Singapore's society has yet to openly accept Gays and the like. It's just like all the other unenforceable laws. (Oral Sex, etc)
It shows that Singapore, as a whole, do not want to have Gays.
I can't remember the survey results on Gay acceptance in Singapore but last I checked, (Correct me if I'm wrong)Gays are pretty un-accepted in our glorious nation-state.
It's useful. But not as a law. It does nothing in its supposed capacity as a 'Law'.
