Had just finished watching A.I Artificial Intelligence on TV and have lots of reflections on it. One of it is that Haley Joel Osment is a very very good actor. He is handsome, adorable and his acting skills- although not perfect- are good enough for an orga as in an organic. Ha ha. If you had watched the movie in 2001, today, or any other day on VCD/DVD/VHR, you would know what I mean.
Basically David is a robot [or mecha] created so real that his mother loves him. Later, complications arrive and he is captured. He then remembers a story his mother told him- Pinocchio and seeks the Blue Fairy in the tale to turn him into a real boy. He then finds a sculpture of her and prays for years. 2000 years passed and he is frozen. A creature that had probably evolved from mankind had existed and consulted help from him as he is the only one who has come to contact with them. They later bring his mother back to life for a day and the story ends.
It is a very good movie although parts of it are quite draggy. It is not a very funny movie- there is almost no laughter in it. Kind of like A Beautiful Mind but in a different Genre. Imbd users had rated the movie- shown on Channel 5 as part of the Steven Spielbirg Fest- 6.9 out of 10.
I wonder what would happen if something would have happened in our current world. Actually, it has already happened. Advanced Robots and Artificial Intelligence will lead to destruction- and in the Biological world, such a thing- cloning- has already happened. Clones will be treated as 2nd class residents- like robots in A.I. And when we humans make them to fast and can't control- we will probably do what the humans did in A.I- and that is kill them Cloning must be stopped.
Today was quite an eventful day. Slacked the entire morning away. Today's Sunday service was held at the Singapore Expo at 3pm. It was David Albritton's last service in Singapore for this seminar thing. VFC will miss him. Take care David and family =)
