Photography

I have forgotten the joy of photography and flickr. Browsing through Muyao's photostream today proofed to be strangely therapeutic. Besides making me realize my inaptness, I have also managed to see through the eyes and emotion of somebody. This is the joy of photography- conveying your thoughts of something you see through the simple click of the shutter.

Right now I won't bet myself on taking more serious photographs, and joining the ranks of these awesome photographers by desperate practice and ditching of my point and shoot for and SLR. Because this will not pull me up to the true love of photography. Photography is something to be felt, and wanted. A passion. And not just a glowing splint.

I rather sit behind the screen, and enjoy the products of these awesome photographers. Perhaps this is the only way to not deceiving myself?

Okay, some kind of cock and bull story.

I will still take pictures, but they are not the kind whereby you take a lot of thought and this spark goes through the human brain who-knows-how-many times. They will just be the normal PNS shots.

That is of course, to me not real photography.

Oh wells. The first day of my holiday ; )

Last Day Of School

Today was the last page of 2E-dom, which explains why I brought my (pathetic) digital point and shoot camera along with me to take bimbo shots. Which also explains the beautiful pictures you will soon scroll down and find!

Nawawi had carefully planned a class photo themed with different spirited actions only to our class being dispirited and obscene and unenthusiastic and whatever. Which resulted in lousy class photos. Class. I still had some pretty fun shots with various people!

I couldn't get the bimbo hold camera in front of you and shoot thing right though, so after about 3 tries of unsuccessful phototaking I just asked the person in front of us to take for us. Hee hee hee.

Asyraf and Fadhil were pretty enthusiastic with taking bimbo shots much to my surprise. It's quite fun to shoot everything that suppose to sum up a year in a day. Heex.

The "Gaga series" is a perfect example whereby I cannot take the bimbo style pictures properly. The last, nicest one is when we finally gave up and asked someone to take for us.

And the bottom two conbined photos are examples of much persuasion pathetic class photos. Tsk!

Okay I shall post first to see how the graphics and everything appears on the blog! Incoming are the videos of hardcore action from Youtube!

***

Okay I'm back with some Youtube vids!

That was Asyraf. I think he kenna-ed like a million times already. So yea, he's like the most victimized taupok victim. Muhahahaha...

That was Vinod. And if you were wondering what he was shouting after the thing, don't. Haha. I was thinking of trying to put the American Idol sign on his mouth plus the *toot* sound but am too noob.

That was Eric. And I think he had the worst taupok of the day. Poor him.

Please note that no injuries had surfaced through the makings of this video.

Yup, it was a fun last day and this is all I have to offer so far =)

Offlineness

Sorry to all whom comments have been lately published due to my pathetic moderational cares and stuff. Sorry to all whom also have been whining at me to update. Sorry to netizens who haven't been seeing my online activity lately.

Yea, it's been quite some time since I have been threading on the wonderful floors of our World Wide Web. My Bloglines has over 300 new entries unread and my Mail App is choking. The blog's hit rating is seriously dwindling (though I do appreciate and applaud those who have been coming here to no avail)

And honestly, I haven't been missing or realizing my lack of online activity either. Okay let's trek back into time like Apple's time machine and find out why I have been so offline.

Yesterday:
Hari Raya Adilfitri
Went to church early for Evangelistic seminar with oh-so-annointed David Albritton. Then found out that Wendy bangsei-ed leaving me and Issac to go on our food tour alone (Chicken rice at somewhere near Dhobby Gaut, Tau huey jwee at Rochor and Starbucks at The Cathay) I actually have quite a lot of pics to upload and post but am just too spastically lazy. Sigh.

Then proceeded home to print the invitation cards and then rushed to Prayer Meeting. Ooh. The second self-iniated prayer meeting in my life.

Yesterday's yesterday:
Monday
Went to school and stayed back after school supposedly "working" on the Open House publicity materials which Lizhi and Ban Liang ended up doing. Oh, and Mr Lim knows my name, surprisingly, considering the fact that I have never had a personal conversation with him. Left motherland at 3 and watched teevee upon reaching home. Then went out for dinner before going to church for that bang bang boardgame night!

I never won a game of Cluedo =(

Yesterday's yesterday's yesterday:
Sunday
I never have time to come online on Sundays and you guys know that so it doesn't really count.

Yesterday's yesterday's yesterday's yesterday:
Saturday
Woke up at 1030 before realizing I have not printed out the street directory for Scavenger Hunt 45 minutes away! Rushed through everything and chionged down to Esplanade and dehydrated my day away in city plus Edge at night.

Yesterday's yesterday's yesterday's yesterday's yesterday:
Friday
School in morning, then proceeded to Tanglin camp for Biennale with AEP cohort and dinner at Marina Bay with MC.

I can't remember the last Thursday already. Actually most of these pointless words are just logbooks and evidences that I was positively packed thus my offlineness. So yup.

I have been accepted by PLC and LTC. Seems kind of scary. I always thought myself as a Peer Leader and not a Junior Leader. Now, it's just so different dimension. Oh well, 2 is better than one.

I am currently positively sick. My phlegm is a mixture of yellow, green and red. I need to be a kiansu Singaporeano and eat and drink liang stuff.

CRY

You're bigger than the air I breathe and the world I'll leave. You will save the day, and all will sing, my glorious, my glorious.

How will I ever be able to draw nearer to you? I desire, help me oh Lord. Help me.

Jeremy sang my favourite song today. Yay.

iPods

I went running at 8am in the morning today! It was quite a therapeutic experience- jogging for 30min continuously. I lost count of how many rounds I ran around the park like area near my house.

I will never be able to do that at school namely because iPod does not follow me when running there. Seriously, with high energy rock blasting in your ears your legs just perk up to the ambience and perform above par.

iPods rule.

And it seems quite funny that Ellen is like mimicking Oprah just that it's the opposite. Huh? You may ask, but she gave out free MP3 players to studio audiences, Oprah did that. She gave out Zunes (which ultimately suck because everyone knows that iPods rock the world) and Oprah gave out iPods. Ellen praised Zune and worshipped it, Oprah did that to iPod (just less intensive because Oprah is spiritual and new age while Ellen is lesbian). Oprah promoted iPod, Ellen promoted Zune.

Actually the whole mimic thing is just iPod and Zune so go figure.

Today is October 14 and it's one month away to heavily publicized Zune's release.

Now just where did I leave my voodoo dolls?

So yea, this is my backlash. Buy iPod- you'll always look cooler with it.

NaNoWriMo

I am couch blogging again! Sorry for the 3 day hiatus which was caused by the oh-so-disgusting and grossly upchucking EOYS (what an affectionate name for such an unaffectionate affair!). I am thus back, after the humongous damage affectionately-called EOYS have done to me, including blogospheric damage, emotional trauma, social breakdown and insanity.

So here I am to say hooray that it's finally over. *Hooray!*

Lizhi and Kundan (not to mention the entire AEP batch) were totally un-elated today when the friggin' 3 hour art paper (that also drove my sanity away) ended. I kinda thought I was crazy and unsound when I was jumping for joy and exploding in the middle of lunch with thanksgiving that EOYS were slayed (and gone until next year- kinda like the Chinese mythical Nian arh? Oh wait, he doesn't come back) but after serious thought I declared myself un-crazy because how can anyone not be super duper elated after such a treacherous week?

I think I should claim insurance for all the hurt, mental insanity and all the various breakdowns I went through.

On a lighter note, NaNoWriMo 2006 is here! It's 19 days left and all of you should join. Writing a novel takes guts and strength, I mean it would be kinda cool to die a novelist among your other accolades. So yup, to support the NaNoWriMo Foundation whatever I have decided to withdraw my Tagboard from today till until 31st November and replace with with a NaNoWriMo link so that all of you will be inspired to join (now or in the future).

You can add me as a buddy, at my NaNoWriMo profile site here. Oh, and NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month although it's not National but International.

Please note that official writing begins November first and if you join later (than November first) you will be losing time to write so buck up, girdle your loins and get set go =)

P/s In case I was yakking and yakking about this NaNoWriMo thing and you were somewhat somehow clueless, NaNoWriMo is a writing marathon set to make you write 50, 000 words (a novel) in a month (November). It is organized Internationally and there are about 167 participants from Singapore. It's free and challenging so sign up today!

I want you near.

Draw me close, and never let me go. I lay everything down again, just to hear you say that I'm your friend. You are my utmost desire, nothing is a better substitute. Because nothing can take your place, as I feel the warmth of your embrace. Bring me back to you.

You're all I want.
You're all I ever needed.
Help me know you are near.

I'm desperate.

Love.

I wanna sit at your feet,
drink from the cup in your hands.
Lay back against you and breathe,
feel your heartbeat.

This love is so deep,
it's more than I can stand.
I melt in your peace,
it's overwhelming.

Mooncakes and Haze

The haze is currently having a PSI of 150, which means it's unhealthy, which means it's serious. I mean, this is probably one of the worst cases- the moon looks yellow, and -get this- even taking in a gulp of air seems different. I mean the air quality is just worser. Yaya, sure, I'm just imagining things. That's what I told Nigel just now, and sorry, I'm taking back my words.

I mean there's like people coughing everywhere and everyone seems to be blowing into a tissue. Hopefully church attendance wouldn't drop tomorrow just because of the haze which ruined my Mooncake Fest yesterday.

I mean Mooncake Festival isn't mooncake festival without the moon. It was covered in haze! #$%^!!

But we had fun last night, didn't we? Haha. I haven't did the go-downstairs-and-play-with-lanterns activity for what was like 7 years? And I morphed into a 3 year old boy last night. Ask Joanna. Or Nigel. Or Ruth. Or anyone who was there yesterday.

Throngs of children carrying traditional lanterns, lanterns shaped in Bobdog, lanterns with electric lighting, lanterns that come with farny undecipherable designs, lanterns with twinkle twinkle little star playing, and -get this- lanterns playing Elvis' Love Me Tender Love Me Sweet. It's lanterns galore!

I think Mooncake festival is a time where inter-neighbourly and intra-family bonding is coherent. I mean like I see fathers and suns sons talking and screaming like brothers, mothers and, erm, mothers talking heartedly. It's a great celebration.

Almost makes me think that the moon is not important anymore. Almost.

I went to Extravaganceland again (Starbucks) and being a boring not-daring self decided to drink what I drank last week- the Java Chip Frappucino. Heex. I wanted to try Caramel Machiato but decided not to cuz I was feeling stinkin' hot after walking out in the haze and into Starbucks.

Nigel V had the usual Mocha frap and Issac the usual Vanilla Latte. Esther (goshes of goshes!) was with us and her Ice Latte, lamenting at how much she spent. Timmy was with us too but didn't drink coffee and ordered a Ice Cocoa with cream. Venti. See how rich kids these days are? I ordered a tall okay!

Maybe I'll take a Grande sometime *chuckles in anticipation*

It's ten o'clock now and the hourly PSI update is up. By the glory of God we have dropped to 145=)

Okay I better go mug for the big Science paper on Monday so I can feel less guilty. Ta people!

Blogging on Couch

Blogging with my legs crossed and on the couch sure is comfortable =) Best of all, I'm front of the teevee. Currently playing now is a music video of Hannah Montanah on Disney Channel. I could get used to this.

It is official. I have screwed Maths up. I lost 13 marks worth of questions because there was no friggin time in Part One already. And in Part Two I got weird answers like 0.0000009. Go figure.

I am currently also blogging on VOX! Thanks to Kifo. Not sure how long this double blog thing will last but it's currently working.

Ew. Martin Mystery is now on Disney. *pauses to change channel*

Currently on Nigel's Place in France on Discovery Travel and Living.

Okay back to the topic of VOX, I am currently blogging on VOX also, blogger still stands a place in my heart after so long. You guys can check it out at http://bigfatsmiles.vox.com. Should you want an invitation (since VOX is by invitation only) you can IM, email, comment, tag or whatever you want me and you have a nice vox blog.

Basically the thing that makes vox better against blogger is the ability to upload like unlimited stuff. But you can't make your own template for it- although there are like hundreds to choose from which makes it more noob friendly.

When back to my old house today *pauses to change channel cuz I just realised I watched that episode of Nigel's Place in France already*

*Now Monk on Star World*

Shall blog more about my old house tomorrow =)

Ear Aperitifs

Just got the latest album from Ondrasik entitled Two Lights. Didn't really have the time to listen to everything except the cover song and The Riddle. As usual, Five for Fighting has magical vocabulary and lyrics, and his melody is ever so perfect. Songs from him just come out as so meaningful.

So my favorite musicians are as below:
Alternative- Five for Fighting
Contemporary Gospel- Steven Curtis Chapman
Punk- Panic! At the Disco
Rock- Keane
Jazz- Renee Olstead
Pop- (currently) Clay Aiken

Please note that Jessica Simpson and her Public Affair is an infatuation. Do you really think tasteful me will fall for some bimbo song for the rest of my life? Lol, we need fun at life's defining moments sometimes.

A bit off track over here.
MacWorld 2006's Worth-Expectings

Mac OS X 10.5 AKA LEOPARD! AKA Most Advanced Operating System in the World!

iWork 07 AKA The Office Suite that kicks Microsoft Office's ass.

iLife 07 AKA The Original (and better) Version of Window's Photo Gallery etc. etc. and all the crap they are going to pull in Vista next year.

True Video iPod (6G) AKA The best MP3 player with the best sound quality, best style and best substance in the world. (Oh, and it also kicks Creative's ass)

iPhone AKA The coolest phone in the history of mobile phones.

(Think so only) iTunes Music Store in Singapore *jumps for joy* AKA Original version of Microsoft's URGE.

iTV AKA The Best TV Companion in the world!

So much to wait for. Such a long time.

geeeoooography

The haze from Indonesia is surely taking a huge piece out of us. I mean like everyone has been falling sick and because of the bloody exams we are all mian qiang [forcing] ourselves to come to school.

My post-Geog syndrome has prompted me to write that: freaking Indonesian farmers should know that cut and burn agriculture will only lead to enhanced greenhouse effect (AKA global warming), air pollution (look at what we have here) and deforestation! And this will make sure that London, Shanghai and Rio De Janeiro will be flooded with a half-a-meter higher sea level by 2050, Singapore having more constant hazes and your rivers getting super dirty.

The guy beside me during Chinese Paper One SA just now was like having a at least 5cm tall pyramid of tissue papers all drenched with mucus. That was the exact same scenario I had yesterday.

Plus Edmund felt feverish this morning also, and Zeng An and Asyraf were absent on Monday. Mr Amir has eye problems whatever.

Look at what this bloody haze has done to us. Thank God I'm recovering.

Okay enough of bitching of the haze. I don't usually blog current affairs but this has really got on my nerves.

Today's Geog was pretty good. All the long answers were great but I forgot the 5th difference between plantation agriculture and subsistence wet rice farming and the 4th pollutive cause of polluted waters.

Lol, for the polluted waters question I wrote that waters are polluted by wastes from industries, agriculture and domestic sources. And for domestic I almost wrote including shit. Hahahaha. I lol-ed (literally) in the middle of the exam and Justus was like "What the?" So here am I "What-the?"-ing myself.

I totally screwed up MCQ, calculated like 3 mistakes already. And I found out I had one mistake for map reading. Crap. I really hope I get A1 for Geog.

Okay so here's me and my super BORing geography post. TA!

LAST LAP

Hey ya'll, pretty late for an update now but here I am just to say hi.

Tomorrow's the Big EOYs and here's me wishing you all the best. Seriously.

Let's just all leave this into the hands of God. I mean, it's already 10 o'clock.

Yup, so jiayou everyone! It's only 9 more days to the end of this horror.

Oh and Happy Birthday to PRC for all my China friends out there~

CHOKED

Today was a horrible day- the nose was totally choked up and I was stinkin' moody. Thanks a lot for those kind comments people, but I really couldn't give a care because of the blardy nose. Wouldn't it be nice if there were nose plumbers to fix those blocks? Okay that's stupid.

A quick check on Answers.com on how to clear noses proofed to be quite futile. And right now I have a splitting headache. I am almost positive I have a viral fever. *counts months since when I last had a fever* including October would be 4 months. I think that is still okay.

The fast today went pretty well. Didn't really hear from God so just settled on a 2 meal one. How are you guys doing? Let's recount my liquid intake for today...

Water.
The Yoghurt Drink from Magnolia.
Chocolate Milk from Magnolia.

Surprisingly I'm not hungry. It's just the very desire to eat, AKA temptation. I need to sleep, the headache's killing me. I think I can survive today's fast. Glory to god.

Rojak

I have been somewhat banned from the evening service. Now I don't get to see how our new GO for Worship looks like since during the earlier service I was convinced by Richard to go and arrange the food you all ate. Oh wells, I heard he's even preaching. I am currently facing emotional trauma.

Then again, God is omnipresent, so I can enjoy his presence at home *raises hands in joyfulness*.

I don't know about you guys but the somewhat bad response in the drama today was caused by the bad spirit in everybody. I could feel in in the reaction in some of your faces when the whoever preacher was debriefing.

Or maybe I'm just over-imagining. Just pray that God will make it right and we we'll have the most successful last drama at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' next next week.

Tomorrow is the Week of Prayer and Fasting leow! Have not decided if I'm going on a full fast or double meal fast yet. Better pray more tonight and ask for God's direction.

Sidetracking to something less spiritual now, I have been trying to run for the past couple of week during the beautiful Saturday mornings (by which there is NO BB now!) to no avail. My personal discipline level is so pathetic.

When I googled "ways to increase discipline", the first search result was some cheesy political website that I had 0% understanding of. How boh leow am I?

Sian, I better go study now, if not hor, all my subjects right, confirm fail one lorh.
